Site History
I guess I started the whole "website" thing early. When I was around 8 or 9 years old, a cousin of mine introduced me to Neopets. I immediately became hooked on it, and I started designing "neopet pages". I had loads of fun helping friends to design theirs, and I started discovering that it was possible for me to make my own website. After opening a few tacky, glitter filled, ugly piczo websites when I was 12, I moved onto Freewebs. Freewebs was amazing to me, it looked so professional, and after a month of preparation, I opened a neopet graphics website. I never anticipated how successful the website would be, and after a few months, I was getting over 1000 hits every day, and usually many more at the weekends. It was very difficult keeping up with it, so I enrolled some help from my neo-friends. We were being spotlighted on other neopet websites, and my friend even brought me a host and domain. However, a few months after opening the domain, we were hacked into, and despite having backed up the files, I knew it was time to call it a day.
After almost a year of no website making, I was desperate to start web designing again. So, I opened another Piczo website. I made layouts, headers, icons etc. I later moved this website onto Freewebs. Before I knew it, I had lost all interest again, and the website fizzled out. A year or so later, I made "Retroflaw" on Piczo. I decided I was ready to "branch out" a bit more, so I applied for a sub-domain. I was ecstatic when I got an e-mail from the host saying I was accepted! I built my sub-domain up, and after about a year, I brought a domain and host. It was a lot cheaper than I had anticipated, so I brought a year hosting. Now, here I am! www.retroflaw.net was born, and I love it! I'm hoping to further my learning in web design, and I also took an A-level in ICT in order to gain more knowledge in the subject!
